One night a couple of weeks ago, my neighbor found the DVD Finding Neverland and let me borrow it because she knew it was one of my favorite movies. I was excited to watch it, but didn't really think Q would want to sit through it. I asked Q if he wanted to hang out on the couch and watch a movie with me. He agreed and hopped up in to my lap. He loved the movie and we had such a nice time watching it together. A couple of nights later at the dinner table, I looked over and Q was hanging a spoon from his nose.........just like Johnny Depp did in the movie......kid cracks me up!
I started this blog for my parents, who recently moved to the Philippines, so they can peek in on the Givens family daily life and keep up with all of Quentin's silliness.

More Self Portraits
I know I've already done a post about Q's self portraits. I thought that was a phase he was done with, but the other day I was loading some photos from the camera on to the computer and came across some of his recent self portraits that I didn't know about. They made me laugh, just had to do another self portrait post.....

Christmas Conversations with Q
This Christmas season is so much fun, Q is really getting into it.....asking tons of questions about Santa and Christmas traditions. The other night before bed we were talking about Santa, Q was telling me what he wants to ask for. Then he told me, "You know I'm scared of Santa, I'm not going to sit on his lap." I explained Santa will just drop off the presents while he's asleep, he said "good, then I don't have to see him?".
Then, on our way home from picking out a tree, B told Q Santa puts the presents under the tree. Q got really quiet (which is not like him), so I asked if he was ok. He said, "So Santa is going to pick up the tree, put the presents down and put the tree on top of the presents?" I had to explain the presents aren't literally under the tree, he said "good, I thought the presents would be squished." Kid cracks me up!!

Conversations with Q
Q cracks me up, we have some really fun conversations, I need to remember to write some of them down. This Sunday all the kids were in big church and we sat next to Dan, Michelle and Lilly. Q told B, "Daddy, Michelle has a big tummy." B explained to Q Michelle has a baby in her tummy to which Q exclaimed "Oh!! You better tell Michelle!!"

Preschool Progress
Quentin received his first preschool progress report and is doing so well. He has room for improvement in the area of making friends, which is not a surprise. I know I say it all the time, Q is very shy. His teacher commented that Q is a very interactive listener, I couldn't have come up with a better description. For every statement made to Q, he has at least 7 questions. The kid never believes anything without having all of his questions answered first.

Halloween
Quentin was so excited for Halloween this year. He loves lollipops and knows he only gets them for haircuts and holidays. He said he was excited to wear his dragon costume, but I wasn't sure how he would feel once there were other people and strangers around. He was braver than I expected and had so much fun. But he did refuse to go up to any doors with decorative cobwebs, because he hates spiders.
Spontaneity
Last Sunday we enjoyed a spontaneous trip to the pumpkin patch at Irvine Park. Now that Q is getting older, we can enjoy some spontaneity. We went with Dan, Michelle, Lilly and Michelle's sister Penny and had so much fun!! Q actually got on the tractor pulled hay ride, but he did tell me, "Mommy, this guy needs to slow down!". The second photo was when we took Q and Lilly to the pumpkin patch last year......they've both grown up so much!!
